By this I mean, I heard that playing the storyline all the way through isn't very enjoyable, how much of the storyline did YOU play when you played Skyrim? Does it make a difference if you play the storyline or not? Also I am a Level 6 Nord at this time.

It's totally worth finishing the campaign, you get cool shouts, and other cool stuff. After that, you should join the Dark Brotherhood, or theives guild. I have an account where I am a level 38 nord, beaten everything love it. Now I started a new game and I am a level 8 Breton. I am done with the war.
