So, after I fast traveled to Whiterun, the guards all of a sudden tried to attack me. I haven't done anything. I've resisted temptations of stealing and murder but yet, they still try to kill me. I've spent a long *** time playing Skyrim and I'm almost to a level twenty. I REALLY DON'T WANT TO START OVER.

There's not enough information on what you've done besides not stealing, there are MANY other reasons why people would want to kill you once they see you. All i can think of is that you've contracted the Vampire virus that makes all Npc's hostile if the virus is not cured.
