I'm just wondering about how one can become a farmer in Skyrim? And by the way, can you marry Lydia?

I dont know about the farming but to have a marriage in skyrim you have to speak with maramal about the cult of Mara. then you can but amulet of mara for 200 gold from him (when you equip this amulet it opens new diolog for certain NPC's one of those NPC's is lydia

also- maramal at the bee and barb inn of riften town, or in riftens temple of mara
